The University of Auckland is integrating a new approach to student teacher reflective processes within all primary and secondary initial teacher education programmes.

Using IRIS Connect, student teachers will record their own teaching practice using our state of the art system, and annotate the videos, noticing key aspects of their emerging teaching practice.

Associate teachers, professional supervisors and the student teachers will then reflect on and discuss the teaching practice in an iterative way.

At the end of the practicum, professional supervisors, associate teachers and student teachers will use the annotated videos as the basis for a rich conversation about what learning has occurred.
